WELCOME

CURA is a charity organisation which was established in June 2011 amongst a cluster of friends& family in the Cape Town area. Our objective is to help those in our community who are less fortunate in various ways.

There are numerous charity organisations out there that are fighting for some or other cause, with the purpose of making a difference.

The charity organisation, CURA, is one which works with the cause of lifting poverty felt in Cape Town today, by means of feeding drives & assisting with food hampers for various organisations.

Why we care
Preventing starvation among those at greatest risk from malnutrition is supremely important. Yet this is only the secondary reason for the existence of CURA. Our primary reason is to restore and preserve the human dignity of the poor, the deprived, and the mentally incapacitated.

Often the first thing to go when one hits the bottom stage of the economic ladder is dignity and pride. Because there is no pride in hunger, there is no dignity in scavenging for scraps in rubbish bins. There is no saving grace in begging for coins in order to afford a loaf of bread.
For some of Capetonians' neediest, poverty may be a temporary state. By preserving the dignity of such people, we help prevent them from slipping further, thereby turning a temporary setback into permanent poverty.
